[Riva] Vista's Aero Glass Smashed and Broken

I just recently got 2 new computers, the exact same, with vista. One has the 3D flip feature working but not the other one, what is the problem?

I've got a Sony Vaio with 2 gigs of ram and the latest Nvidea card, and it's a stand-alone card not shared with system ram. Flip 3D used to work fine. I changed the desktop color scheme to something else and now when I try to change back to Windows Aero it changes to Windows Vista Basic instead.

Windows Aero Glass won't turn back ON
Now when I try switching back to Aero (Glass), the option simply isn't there in the Appearance menu. Windows Vista Basic (XP like), Standard and Classic are the only ones that show up in Appearance properties. I do not have transparency or flip 3D. No drivers or display related software was installed.

3D Flip
The "flip 3D" natively available in Aero (and no, I don't know whether it is supported in 64-bit because I don't have a 64-bit system) is MS's copy of the real Expose. You might want to try it. Or perhaps your video card doesn't support Aero? Are you using the latest 64-bit drivers from your video card maker?

Right click 'computer' icon Click 'properties' Click 'windows experience index' (blue hyperlink) Under tasks click 'adjust visual effects' Select radio button "adjust for best appearance' Confirm the settings. Flip 3D strange behaviour
Any preloaded Linux PC will not have these problems. The hell it won't. I installed Knoppix to the hard drive, and found at least 13 menu items that didn't work. The flip side: it's big. However, it's also highly capable, and with plug-ins can do everything from news- and web-browsing to program debugging.

Just out of curiosity, are you working on a fix for this, compiling a list to sent to MSFT, or are you just curious? Or maybe you work for MSFT On this issue I'm trying to identify if the problem lies with Vista or Excel and it's a little difficult because 3d flip is new and not in previous Windows releases.

Now all of a sudden it says windows aero is not working and won't let me access my installed programs.
